Pocketcare
The only medical app you need in your pocket
Pocketcare is a medical shopping app that allows the user to buy medicinal products online and have it shipped to their home and book online consultants with doctors through call or chat.
The Problem
Finding a shopping app that caters to medicinal products with a vast catalog and being able to book consultations with doctors regarding medical issues can be challenging.

The Solution
Making an easy, simple and flexible way to order medicinal products from the comfort of your home is the more important than ever especially during a pandemic. I wanted to design an app that is easy to use, navigate, shop and consult doctors all in the palm of the users hand.

Empathize
The aim of this phase was to learn more about the target users and the audience of the product. The ultimate goal was to understand what the target users do and what their struggles and needs are. I conducted 3 user interviews all of whom were potential candidates that would use the app for their medicinal needs who would use the app once a week.
Define
With the user interviews, i was able to identify issues and goals that the users have when they use the app.
User Persona
User Goals
1.Convenience from buying online and having items delivered to home.

2.Expert advice when needed regarding products and their health.

3.Assurances regarding products from reputable brands.
User Pains
1.Finding relevant information on medicinal products with vast information on the web.
2.Duplicates, fakes, and authenticity regarding certain medicinal products.

3.User personal Information is used for the wrong purposes.
Ideate
I explored different ways how I can make the user experience better when they interact with the app by mimicking the task flows of the user when they register on the app, browse and buy products, and consulting with doctors on the app.

I used scenarios for the user on what they will do when on the app and I developed the task flows that the user will go through.

With the user's task flows in mind, I was able to develop the information architecture of the main features and functions on the different screens of the app.
Sketches
With the user interviews, I sketched different screens of the app to visualize the user journey. Sketches and research of medical apps online helped with finding out the main components and features of the app.
Information Architecture
Prototyping and testing
Commencing user testing with the low-fidelity prototype proved invaluable in uncovering usability issues and validating the app's design while maintaining a focus on functionality rather than intricate aesthetics. Usability testing was instrumental in confirming that the design effectively met user expectations and identifying any challenges they encountered. Below are the comparisions.
Incorporating user feedback into the refinement process, I then proceeded to craft a high-fidelity prototype that incorporated elements such as colors, typography, effects, and finer details. This transition to a high-fidelity prototype facilitated a comprehensive understanding of how users would interact with the final product, ensuring a more refined and user-centered design.
I expanded and developed the designs with low & high fidelity mockups and then with usability testing in the design and prototyping phase. I did wireframes and prototypes of how the app will look and from there made sure the flow of the user suits the user's mental model of how they do tasks.
Marketing & Social Media Campaigns
I created design ads and copywriting to be used as advertisements on social media in promotion of the app and the usage PET tools to persuade and entice users to download and use the app.
Reflection
This is my first project in UX/UI, I learn all the facets and basics of UX/UI design, working on this project has been an interesting and valuable experience. With the experiences and knowledge gained from my Sgunited Associate UX/UI Bootcamp and online materials to learning interview conducting with users who have not seen the product before.

This project experience has helped me to further strengthen my foundations in UX/UI design and my desire to pursue a career in this field. Through this project, I learned to appreciate the minuscule design choices designers make that go unnoticed by users.

I am excited to embark on this journey and where it will take me.
